Fall Environment Day 2016

Event date: Tuesday, September 20, 2016, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Location: 791 Webber Avenue

Peterborough City and County Waste Management Divisions are hosting an Environment Day on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. It takes place at 791 Webber Avenue in Peterborough (beside Value Village).

Residents of the City and County are invited to bring:

  • Over-sized plastic items, such as patio furniture and laundry baskets
  • Carpet
  • Audio and video cassettes, CDs, DVDs, vinyl records, and their covers    
  • Hard-covered Books - we will remove the covers for you!
  • Scrap Metal – All metal types accepted
  • Electronics – computers, hand-held electronics, televisions, digital cameras, printers
  • Appliances with cords - toasters, hair dryers, lamps, electric tools, coffee makers, etc. No glass please
  • Single Use Batteries - no car batteries.

Household quantities of these items will be accepted for recycling free of charge. No commercial loads will be accepted

Items that contain Freon, such as refrigerators, air conditioners or water coolers cannot be accepted.

Special event pricing on blue boxes, composters, and “blue in the loo” containers will be available – cash only please.

*New* Reclaimed wood that is from City ash trees cut down due to the emerald ash borer is available for sale.

The sawmilled and seasoned planks are of various sizes but generally 8ft long, 6-10 inches wide and either 1 or 2 inches thick (no live edges). Ash lumber is perfect for furniture making, flooring and turning. 

Prices will be as marked but averaging $1 a board ft
