Visit your Art Gallery from 9 am to 8 pm.

 

The Art Gallery of Peterborough is pleased to invite you to our Open House. This is an opportunity to learn about gallery volunteer opportunities, preview upcoming events and learn about fall art classes for both adults and children.


At 10 am the AGP welcomes all to participate in the kick off for the 2012 fall season by previewing the upcoming 28th annual Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour (Sept 22-23). Tour Artists will be in attendance, and brochures and maps will be available.


The gallery will also launch our annual It’s All About Art Weekend Party for 2012. There will an announcement about an exciting new format. Selected artworks for both live and silent auctions will be on display.


From 1 pm to 4 pm, enjoy family crafts and art-making activities in the gallery studio. Create a pop-up book and make a mosaic with the AGP Education team. No fee or registration required. Children must be accompanied by an adult.


Additionally from 1 pm to 4 pm there will be docent-lead tours of all the gallery exhibitions,


At 5:30 pm to 6:15 pm AGP Curator Carla Garnet will UnPack the Art, leading a guided tour through the AGP’s exhibitions. These are the final two weeks to enjoy the exhibitions:

New Floral Works: The Peterborough Women’s Art Association



At 6:30 meet artist Christy Haldane as she presents an artist talk about The Waterway Project. Haldane has developed a series of sculptures using recycled window glass and other common building material that are currently on view as outdoor installations at the Trent Severn locks.


All the day’s events are free and are accessible. Door prizes and refreshments available. All are welcome to attend. The Art Gallery of Peterborough is located at 250 Crescent Street on the shore of Little Lake beside Del Crary Park in downtown Peterborough.
