HIGHLIGHTS

  •  Effective January 1, 2017 all Blue boxes are $3.00 including tax.
  • Only proper Blue Boxes (14-, 18-, and 22- gal) should be used for setting recyclables to the curb.
  • Sort materials into two (2) streams (see Materials list).
  • Blue Boxes no greater than 22 kg (50 lb) in weight when full. 
  • No free replacement for lost/stolen or damaged Blue Boxes.  Purchase Price $3.00 including tax
  • Recyclable materials are banned from garbage.
  • Set out recycling no earlier than 7:00 pm the night before or no later than 7:00 am the morning of your collection.

Q. Are coffee cups from coffee shops recyclable?
A. Yes. Paper coffee cups are accepted in the Containers recycling stream (lids off).

Q. How do I dispose of Styrofoam?
A. Bulky white Styrofoam only (not plates, trays, cups, etc.) can be dropped off at the Pido Road 24 hour drop off depot. No curbside collection of Styrofoam.

Q. Can recyclables be placed in bags for curbside recycling collection?
A. Due to the fact that there is limited space in our recycling collection trucks, we request that you bring your bags of recyclables to the Recycling Drop-off Depot at 390 Pido Road. The Depot is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Q. My Blue Box is broken. What do I do?
A.  Blue boxes are available for purchase for $3 at both locations. Hours operation are Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm.
