Access to transportation is an important part of maintaing a sense of independance. Although a license and vehicle are not always accessible to everyone, the City of Peterborough has numerous resources for transportation within the City. See the following information for a list of local transportation options.

All regular Peterborough Transit routes now have fully accessible buses. These buses are easy to get on and off because they have no steps and they have a ramp for wheelchair and scooter users. All passengers requiring accessible buses should call 745-0525 shortly before their trip to make sure there is one on their route when needed. 61% of the fleet is now comprised of low floor, accessible buses. Senior rates are available when you purchase a 30 day pass or a seasonal pass. |

Handi-Van Information |
| Description: |
The Handi-Van is a special transit service for people that cannot take the regular buses due to mobility impairments. The Handi-Vans are fully wheelchair accessible. The service is provided door to door on an appointment basis. You must be registered as a Handi-Van user before making a booking. Please click here for more information on the Handi-Van. | Aging at Home Van |
| Description: |
Community Care has the Aging at Home Van that helps seniors in the City and County of Peterborough access transportation to medical or therapy appointments, shopping and other related activities. This vehicle is equipped with a lift-up power mobility seat with arm supports to assist individuals when extra help is needed boarding a vehicle. A nominal fee applies. |
