Many injuries, by older adults age 65 and over, can be predicted and prevented. Falls are the leading cause of injury, responsible for deaths and are a main reason for admission to a nursing home. Injuries for seniors can mean the difference between dependency requiring institutional care and good health with independent living in the community.
