Welcome to the Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre's Aquatic Programs and Services

 The Aquatic Centre boasts two pools, the leisure pool and the therapy pool.  The leisure pool is 20 metres in length and is maintained at 28 degrees Celsius (84 F) and has five lane, an accessible chair lift the areas largest indoor water slide, water bubbling features, water rain shower and spray jets. This pool is utilized for public swims, lane swims, aqua fitness, swimming lessons, birthday parties, day camps and pool rentals. The therapy pool is a shallow 33 degree Celsius (92 F) pool with wheelchair ramp, and a swirl-pool.  This pool is used for gentle aqua fitness, swimming lessons, public swims, nursery swims and post natal aqua fitness.

Public Swimming

Feel free to drop in for a swim during our Public Swim times or Adult swim times. Public swimming in the Aquatic Centre includes use of the Leisure Pool. The Leisure Pool is  equipped with pool bubbler, water spray features and the region´s largest waterslide. Also included is the Therapy Pool with swirl pool feature as well as the sauna, showers and changerooms. Both pools and associated changeroom are accessible.

Policy for children under 10: Must be accompanied into the water with a parent or guardian who is 16 years of age or older and is responsible for their direct supervision. All children who are not toilet trained must wear 'Little Swimmers' when in the pool.

Nursery Swim

For ages 4 months to 3 years. A fun pool time for parents to splish and splash with their young children.  Adults are asked to bring their children, socialize with other parents, and enjoy the relaxing warmth of our Therapy Pool.  Little Swimmers are required to be worn in the pool by our participants if not toilet trained. This program will be run by the participating parents and will be an opportunity to meet others. Spaces available are first-come, first served.  See Therapy Pool schedule above for current Nursery Swim schedule

• Cost - $1.00 per adult with child (price is going up to $2.00 in Fall 2010)
• Spring & Summer - Monday, Wednesday and Friday (8:45 am to 9:15 am)
• Fall - Monday to Friday (9:00 am to 9:30 am, 1:30 pm to 2:00 pm)

Aquatic Pay-As-You-Go Option

Non-Members can purchase a Pay-As-You-Go  day pass for $7.50 per person to gain access to the fitness centre, fitness classes, as well as access to the aquatic centre for adult or public swims and use of the change rooms.
