- OTR Celebration Program
We are honoured and excited to be an Olympic Torch Relay Celebration Community. The Torch will not just pass through the City, but will be celebrated on stage at our Community Celebration site on December 15, 2009.
The Vancouver Organizing Committee has planned a fun and dynamic program for your enjoyment. Your local Celebration Task Force has been meeting since February of 2009 to finalize logistics for the Torch Relay and local entertainment for the Celebration. The two main sponsors of the Torch Relay, Coca-Cola and RBC, are also taking part with displays and entertainment. It promises to be an event you won't want to miss!
We encourage everyone to come out to line the Torch Relay route or join us at 5:30 pm in Morrow Park for the Community Celebration. The Olympic Torch caravan will arrive in Peterborough at about 6:45 pm with the first torch bearer starting at Charlotte and George Street and final torchbearer Bob Gainey will carry the torch to the cauldron on stage at 7 pm sharp.
