Skating Programs
Power Skating
Did you know that strong skaters possess a combination of balance, agility and power! The Recreation Division would like you to know that you too can learn the tricks of the trade through an exciting Power Skating instructional program for youth. Lessons run for one hour for a total of 10 hours of ice time. The focus of the program is to improve skating skills and endurance for young skaters.Parents are reminded that this program is not for beginner skaters. Participants are required to have a minimum of two years of skating and hockey experience to register for this program. Full hockey dress and stick are required.

Northcrest Skating School
This program is offered cooperatively with certified skating instructor Bonnie Lynn Porter. The Northcrest Skating School emphasizes basic "Learn to Skate" instruction. New skaters and beginners will increase their skills and interest in skating through the School. Nine 45 minute lessons make up a seriese and are held on Sundays, with three times to choose from. Children are required to wear a helmet, warm clothing and heavy mittens.2011 WINTER SESSION

This program is offered cooperatively with certified skating instructor Bonnie Lynn Porter. This program is an excellent introduction to ice skating for youngsters. Games, music and skating aids will ensure a fun learning
environment. Children will be taught to stand up on their own, fall down and get back up on their own and basic forward skating skills.It is mandatory for children to have one parent or guardian accompanying them on the ice at all times. Ten 45 minute lessons make up a session that is held on Wednesday mornings. Children are required to wear a certified hockey helmet, warm clothing and heavy mittens.
