PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN – Saturday July 14^th, 2007

Planned WADING POOL activities include:

• Ship Architecture Drawing Contest (best ship wins)
• The “Search for Gold”/ Penny toss game
• A search for the hidden treasure
• Lessons on how to talk like a pirate, followed by a pirate-talking contest

Planned WATERFRONT activities include:

• Pirate ship sand sculpture contest
• A guided search for the buried treasure
• Lessons on how to talk like a pirate, followed by a pirate-talking contest

SUN SAFETY – Saturday July 28^th, 2007

• a prize is given out to everyone who is wearing sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses

Planned WADING POOL activities include:

• Sun Safety Trivia
• Relay Races
• Decorating sunglasses activity
• Contest – swimmer most protected from the sun wins the grand prize

Planned WATERFRONT activities include:

• Sun safety trivia
• Relay Races
• Sun sand sculpture contest
• Contest – swimmer most protected from the sun wins the grand prize

BECOME A LIFEGUARD – Saturday Aug 18^th, 2007

• Take-home information will be provided at each location, as well as a Q & A session on the steps required to become a lifeguard

Planned WADING POOL activities include:

• Rescue skills lesson (taught by the lifeguard)
• Whistle blast/ hand signal contest
• Draw a picture of your favourite lifeguard, and give it to them

Planned WATERFRONT activities include:

• Rides on the rescue board
• spinal boarding demonstration (you can be the victim!)
• Rescue skills lesson (taught by the lifeguard)
• Lifeguard skill contest 
• Whistle blast/ hand signal contest
