Aquafitness WomanCanadian Aquafitness Leaders Alliance (CALA) - Multipurpose Training

The Canadian Aquafitness Leaders Alliance provides top-notch training and access to up-to-date information for fitness professionals in one on one and group settings. This multipurpose training opportunity is geared to leaders, coaches, post rehabilitation specialists, athletes and personal trainers. The full day of workshops is based on practical application of theory using an integrative approach to learning.

  1. Experience simultaneous chest deep and deep water teaching technique, fine tune your on-deck demonstration skills, learn to motivate and inspire participants to move to their best ability, and assimilate new cuing strategies that create effective communication channels between you and your participants.
  2. Earn Canfitpro and CALA continuing education credits (*Note: Earn & bank CALA CECs even before you are CALA trained).

Personal Training Specialist  (CanFit Pro)

This training was created especially for candidates who work with clients on an individual or small group basis, and who design exercise programs for improved fitness and health.

This comprehensive in-class and online course is designed to increase your knowledge and confidence level to train clients in a one-on-one or small group (2-3 people) setting. The course consists of online and in-class learning. The online course has been developed to provide an excellent online learning experience covering topics such as anatomy, biomechanics, and physiology. The comprehensive in-class course covers a wide range of topics preparing you for the exams and the career of a personal trainer. These courses combine to position the Can-Fit-Pro PTS as the premier personal training certification in Canada.

This course covers:

  • Aspects of fitness, wellness, and basic training principles
  • Fitness theory: skeletal, muscular, neurological, cardiovascular, and pulmonary systems
  • Components of a workout from warm-up, cardiovascular and resistance training, to cool-down
  • Kinesiology / anatomy in action, and bioenergetics
  • Nutritional counselling and weight management
  • Screening and assessment of new clients
  • Business skills for success as a personal trainer

Fitness Instructor Specialist (FIS)

A qualified Fitness Instructor Specialist can lead groups in various formats of cardiovascular conditioning, muscle strength and endurance training, stretching and relaxation, or a calming cool-down. This comprehensive 25-hour course will increase your knowledge and confidence level to lead a group fitness class to music.

This course covers:

  • Aspects of fitness, wellness and basic training principles
  • Fitness theory: skeletal, muscular, neurological, cardiovascular and pulmonary systems
  • Kinesiology/anatomy in action and bioenergetics
  • Components of a fitness class from the warm-up to the cool-down
