Are there additional fees upon registering as a member?
No. The membership fee is the only amount charged upon registration.

How many times around the 100-metre track to walk a mile?
Sixteen times around the walking track is a mile and 10 times around is a kilometre.

How old do I have to be to work out in the Fitness Centre?
Members age 13 - 15 must have family supervision, or must complete the "Junior Get Started" program.

Can I put my membership on hold? If I can is there a fee to do this?
Yes. For 2 - 3 months, once per calendar year and without a cost.

Do members receive a discount on specialty classes like Pilates or Tai Chi?
Yes, members receive a 50% discount on registered fitness classes.

How old does my child need to be to go swimming or play in the gymnasium by themselves?
Children ages 10 years and older are free to go swimming or utilize the gym without supervision. Children under the age of 10 need to be accompanied by a guardian who is 16 years of age or older and is responsible for their direct supervision.

If my child is younger or older than the outlined minimum or maximum age range for a program, what are my options?
When a child is older or younger then the specified age requirements please contact the supervisor of this program to see what, if any, accommodations can be made for your child.

What do I need to bring for public swimming?
Please bring your own towel, bathing suit and goggles if required. Bring your own lock if you want use a locker for the day.

My child cannont swim without a lifejacket, do you have one there?
Yes, we have lifejackets and water wings for use during our public swims and lessons.

I want to put my child in lessons but I don't know what level they are in. How can I find out?
You can set up a free screening with Sandra Hall by calling 742-0050 x2208.

What are the Child Minding Service Hours at the Centre?
Monday to Thursday: 8:30 am - 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Fridays: 8:30 am - 1:00 pm, 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Saturday & Sunday: 9:00 am - 1:00 pm

Do Members get a discount on registered child or youth programs?
Yes, child or family members receive a 25% discount on registered programs and are eligible to register for selected programs for FREE. See the current Leisure Services Guide for more details.

What age can I leave my child in the Child Minding services?
Child Minding services are for children 6 weeks to 10 years old.

When may students apply for summer volunteer or employment opportunities for the day camps at the Centre?
Resumes and cover letters outlining the student's interest in volunteering and/or employment will be accepted in January and February 2010. Interviews will commence in late February and hiring will continue until all positions are filled.
