Summer Camp registration starts January 1, 2017!

The Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre has a variety of exciting day camp programs that provide children with the opportunity to make friends and join fun recreational activities. We strive to ensure that our campers have the best experience possible while attending our camp programs. Choose the camp that best fits your schedule, and then call or visit the Centre to register or register online.

NEW! Early Bird Program for Day Camps

This program provides additional care for those campers and their families who require an earlier start in the morning. Campers may bring in a nut-sensitive breakfast and relax or play quiet activities, then gear up for their big day at camp during this extra half-hour. Participants must be enrolled in a PSWC day camp operating the same day or week to be eligible for the program.

Fee: $5 day OR $25 weekly (members and non-members)

NEW! for 2017

Registration multi-week discount rates are available for member and non-member families who register their child for two weeks of specialty camp (*) programs and then register for additional specialty camps.

Fee: Member $80 /  Non-member $160 per child

Please note that the LIT program is excluded from this promotion. Members receive a 50% discount off non-member registration fees for specialty camps and 25% off theme camp non-member fees as outlined in the chart above. HIGH FIVE® is a Parks and Recreation Ontario (PRO) program of resources, tools, and training designed to help program leaders and parents ensure organizations are delivering the best programs for children. Forms
A Personal Health & Information form is required for each child registered in a day camp program, and is due one week prior to camp start. Forms are available at the Centre, Recreation Division at City Hall, or download here. Camp staff cannot administer prescribed medications without parental or guardian consent. Please see camp staff for an authorization form.

Staff
Programming, supervision, and implementation of our programs is provided by certified and trained staff whose experience and leadership skills provide a rewarding camp experience for children in a healthy and safe environment. Student volunteers and LIT Candidates also contribute support to camp initiatives.

What to Bring
Please bring a daily nut-free lunch, snacks, drinks,water bottle, running shoes, sunscreen and hat (or appropriate outdoor weather clothing), swim gear,and a smile. Please leave nuts and nut products, personal toys, electronic devices, and valuables at home. Please label personal items with first name and last initial. The Centre is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Swim Screening
Mandatory aquatic evaluation of each camper's swimming ability is performed by the Centre's aquatic staff. Wrist bands, water wings, or lifejackets may be assigned depending upon a camper's screening results.

How to Contact Camp
The summer and March Break camp office is located in multi-purpose room A (MPR A). Call 705-742-0050 x2214 to reach camp staff, or alternatively x2201 for assistance.

Drop-off & Pick-up
Caregivers are required to check-in with camp staff each morning and evening. If an alternative adult will be collecting your child, that adult must be listed on the child’s form. If a child does not arrive at camp, staff will follow-up with caregivers. If your child will be absent please advise camp staff in advance, or before 9:00 am on the day of absence.

Special Needs Campers
If your child has special needs (physical, cognitive,behavioural, etc.) a one-to-one support adult should be provided to assist your child daily at camp. Please contact the Program Coordinator at 705-742-0050 x2206 before registering your child to discuss your child’s needs.

Behaviour at Camp
Campers are expected to behave appropriately while in the care of the program and these expectations are in place to ensure all campers are permitted the opportunity to appreciate a positive and rewarding camp experience.

Camp Hours
Supervision is offered between 8:00 am and 5:30 pm. Camp programs start at 9:00 am and run until 4:00 pm. Early drop-off care is available; please see Early Bird Camp below.

Early Bird Camp
If you require an earlier drop-off time for your camper, this program is for you. Campers can bring breakfast, socialize, or play quiet activities from 7:30 to 8:00 am on scheduled days before joining the camp program for the day. Registration is required.

Lunch / Snapshot Program
Offered during Summer and on occasion March Break. Order forms are available in advance, and returnable to the camp attendance desk with fees.
