child playing in waterThe Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre has a variety of exciting day camp programs that provide children with the opportunity to make friends and join fun recreational activities.

We strive to ensure that our campers have the best experience possible while attending our camp programs.

NEW! Early Bird Program for Day Camps

This program provides additional care for those campers and their families who require an earlier start in the morning. Campers may bring in a nut-sensitive breakfast and relax or play quiet activities, then gear up for their big day at camp during this extra half-hour. Participants must be enrolled in a PSWC day camp operating the same day or week to be eligible for the program.

Personal Health and Information Forms

Personal Health and Information forms are mandatory for each child registered for a day camp program, and may be updated at any time through the Program Coordinator or Camp Supervisors. Forms are available at the Centre or Recreation Division, City Hall. Complete and forward form(s) to the Program Coordinator one week prior to the start of the camp program. What to Bring

Lunch, snacks, drinks, water bottle, running shoes, sunscreen, hat, swim gear, outdoor weather-appropriate clothing and a smile. Please leave nut and nut products, personal toys, electronic devices, and valuables at home.

 

Drop-Off / Pick-Up / Safe Arrival

Parents and Guardians are required to check-in with camp staff at morning drop-off and evening pick-up times. If an alternative adult will be picking up your child, that adult is required to be listed on the child’s personal health & information form. If a child does not arrive at camp, staff will contact the family for follow-up. If your child will be absent, please advise the camp staff in advance, or contact the Centre before camp begins at 9 am.

 

Camp Staff

Programming, supervision, and implementation of our successful camp programs is provided by staff with mandatory certifications, skills, experience, and leadership characteristics. Their qualifications enable them to provide a positive and rewarding experience for children in a healthy and safe environment.

 

Camp Gear

Summer camper merchandise is available for families to purchase at the Centre’s reception desk.

 

Medications

Camp staff cannot administer prescribed medications unless the appropriate form has been completed by parents or guardians. Please contact staff at 705-742-0050 ext. 2206, or ask for a copy from reception or camp staff.

 

Special Needs

If your child has special needs (physical, cognitive, behavioural, etc.) a one-to-one support adult may be required to assist your child daily at camp. Please contact the Program Coordinator at 705-742-0050 ext. 2206 before registering your child to discuss your child’s needs.

 

Behavioural Expectations

Campers are expected to behave appropriately while in the program. These expectations are in place to ensure all campers are permitted the opportunity to appreciate a positive and rewarding camp experience.
