Child Minding

The Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre offers a child minding service to children between the ages of six weeks and six years old, on a first come, first served basis during our service hours of operation. This program will provide child care for your family while you utilize the centre. Your child(ren) will be able to socialize with other children of various ages, play with our toys, or perhaps do a craft or read a story. Our space is a nut-sensitive zone and we ask that you please respect the allergies that some of our participants may have.

We remind parents that this service is only open to those parents/guardians utilizing the centre during the time the child(ren) are in our care. Parents cannot leave the building. Our service is not a licensed day care and is a babysitting service that is provided for a maximum 2 hour stay per visit. As part of our health and safety policy and due to supervision ratios, bottle feeding, toileting, and diapering of untrained children is the responsibility of the parent/guardian and will be approached to assist your child(ren) to feed, use the washroom and perform diapering as needed. All medical conditions or special consideration is asked to be shared with the supervising staff upon drop-off when signing into the room.

Child Minding Service is now INCLUDED in all one year child/youth, one adult family and family memberships!

Please note that beginning in July 2013 the ages for the Child Minding service will change to 6 weeks to 8 years old to accomodate our families.

On Monday and Wednesday evenings from 5:30-7:30 we have opened a Kids' Lounge for children aged 7-10 years old. Kids can choose from a variety of activities including arts & crafts, board games and so much more!! * This sevice will not be available for July/August 2013

Note: Please remember when the facility is operating on Holiday Hours the Child Minding Service is unavailable. Child Minding will be closed on Monday July 1, Monday August 5, and Monday September 2nd.
