Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre Day Camps are proud to be part of the HIGH FIVE initiative.
What To Bring To Camp
Children are required to bring:
lunch, snacks and a drink (remember food is required to be nut-sensitive!)
a refillable water bottle
indoor running shoes (no sandals or Crocs please)
labelled sunscreen and a hat
appropriate clothing for weather conditions
Bathing suit and towel each day, and a plastic bag for wet clothing
Swim bracelet (if applicable) must be worn all week.
a smile and loads of energy!
NOTE: Please do not bring personal toys and items, they are safer at home
On the first day of camp, campers have the option to complete the swim test. The swim test requires campers to swim the length of the leisure pool on their fronts without touching the wall. If the lifeguards determine that the camper has successfully passed the test, he or she will be given a swim bracelet which grants them access to the water slide and permission to swim without a life jacket or water wings. Campers who do not pass the swim test or campers who choose not to do the swim test will be provided with wings or a jacket to wear during swim times.
We ask that parents be aware of the weather forecast to assist their children in packing for camp. On wet and rainy days, please include a light jacket or a sweatshirt. Staff will monitor conditions and consider indoor activities when the weather is excessively hot or inclement. Remember that your child should be bringing sunscreen during summer programs to apply regularly throughout the day!!
Nuts Are For Squirrels!
The Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre provides and supports a nut-sensitive environment. Staff ask that children participating within, not only our summer day camp programs, but all our drop-in and registered programs, maintain safe lunches and snacks to respect our friends. Parents are asked to review all labels prior to packing lunches to ensure we provide a safe environment for all of our children.
Summer Camp Gear
The Peterborough Sport & Wellness Centre summer camp programs offer camp gear for kids! Items such as t-shirts, backpacks and more are available for families to purchase. A great way to play.... in style! Ask at the Centre's reception desk for more information or to purchase your items.
