Designed for the new millennium, Millennium Park is located adjacent the Otonabee River Trail and was opened in 2001 as a linear park along the shores of the Otonabee River. The area was designed as peaceful natural parkland amongst the Peterborough downtown core. Millennium Park is continually filled with friends of the park relaxing with a cup of java or special treat, enjoying the delightful sounds and attractions or a attending one of the many special events that take place in the park.
The Upper Boathouse is home to the popular Silver Bean Café. The cafe provides, refreshments, snacks and good conversation overlooking the beautiful Otonabee River. The Cafe is open from May 1st to Thanksgiving weekend. The Lower Boathouse is home to PedalnPaddle, offering Kayak and Canoe rentals for those wishing to adventure out onto the waterway.

Otonabee River Trail
Millennium Park is a focal resting place on the Trans Canada Trail with its variety of amenities. There are also many features of the park including the Irish Monument, The Steve Chaisson Pond, Aboriginal monument, Breaved Famlies Butterfly Garden and many trees and benches in memorial.
Permitting Season Policies
- Millennium Park will be permitted at the discretion of the Arena, Parks and Recreation Advisory Board.
- There will be no performance or activity beyond the 11:00 p.m. curfew.
- Events will be allocated on an annual basis, by seniority, based on the dates that were previously used and paid for.

Special Occasion Permits
For more information in regards to securing a Special Occasion Permit at this facility, please contact the Recreation Division and request a copy of the Municipal Alcohol Policy.
Trent Severn Waterway Approval
If your event is water based, you must receive approval from Trent Severn Waterway. You will need to provide the Recreation Division with the copy of written permission of approval for your event.
Street Closure Application
If your event set-up requires the streets in the immediate park area be temporarily closed, you must:
- Identify the road closure in your Permit Request
- Obtain a street closure application from the Clerk's Office, City of Peterborough.
- Submit copy of written approval to the Recreation Division office.
Site Visits
A site visit may be required by the Recreation Division with a representative from the Special Event, in order that all details and arrangements for your event can be reviewed and discussed on site. The Permitting Recreationist will make the arrangements for a meeting prior to the event date.
Park & Display Room Rental Rates
These rates include all wedding ceremonies, receptions, music/theatre performances and special events pertaining to all outdoor spaces throughout the Park and the Display Room. The Park and Display Room are separate bookings.
