June is Recreation & Parks Month

In 2005, the Ontario Parks Association, Ontario Recreation Facilities Association and Parks and Recreation Ontario designated June as Parks and Recreation Month (JRPM) in Ontario. JRPM was created to draw attention to the many benefits and values of recreation, and to celebrate the wide variety of recreational organizations and activities available across the province. The theme, “Live it Everyday” encourages people to embrace and participate in recreation and parks programs, services and facilities – everyday!

Mayor Paul Ayotte has officially proclaimed June 2010 as Recreation and Parks Month in Peterborough!

The City of Peterborough Recreation Division has joined the JRPM movement by becoming a June is Recreation and Parks Month Ambassador for 2010. We recognize the value and importance of recreation, and are proud of the wide variety of recreational opportunities available in our City!
