Little Lake Musicfest

Festival of LightsThe Little Lake Musicfest is free for everyone. Events are staged at Del Crary Park, on Little Lake in downtown Peterborough from late June to August. Set up your lawn chair on the grass and listen to one of the concerts performed by renowned rock, folk, country or blues artists. The Peterborough Folk Festival

Washboard Hank leading the children's paradeThe Peterborough Folk Festival is a three-day community and music festival in the heart of the city. An annual event, taking place the weekend before Labour Day, it features an array of events for everyone. Friday is the Kickoff Party at the Canadian Canoe Museum, featuring music, locally-crafted beers, and admission to the world-class displays at the CCM. Saturday features a day-long free festival in Nicholls Oval/Rotary Park, with live music, a Children's Village, Artisans and Food Vendors, activities and workshops. Snofest Winter Carnival

The Snofest Winter Carnival is held each January at the Peterborough Museum and Archives. (Ashburnham Memorial Park - Armour Hill) The morning begins with a free pancake breakfast, and follows with many fun activities for the entire family.  After lunch, enjoy a free bowl of chili.  For more information call Paul Crough at 742-5351.

Streetfest

This free event in July is a great time to come and check out Peterborough’s downtown area. George Street is closed off to showcase live bands, buskers, and demonstrations. There is plenty of outdoor fun and food for the whole family. Jazz Festival and Restaurant Tour

Man playing guitarEvery year in September, the Downtown Business Improvement Area sponsors an outdoor Jazz Festival and Restaurant Tour. The Open Air Jazz Festival is free to the public. The audience can enjoy non-stop Jazz from early afternoon into the evening. Refreshments and food are also offered. The Jazz Restaurant Tour is one of our most popular events as it brings together great jazz and blues music and a diverse collection of venues. A variety of restaurants dish up delectable food samplers for you to savour while enjoying the featured Jazz bands. "Feel the Heat" on a mid - September evening, in Downtown Peterborough!
