Junior Parks

The Junior Parks Program is offered to children ages 4 to 8. The City of Peterborough Recreation Division offers this program free of charge. The program operates in local parks from late June to early August. For all information relating to Junior Parks, please visit the website.

Come Cook With Us!

Kawartha Youth Unlimited offers a cooking class from 3:30 - 6:30 pm in 10 week blocks through out the school year. Here kids ages 8 - 13 learn about food and preparation, and then cook! To find out more information and when the program is run next visit the website.

Ember runs every Wednesday night from 7-9pm. Youth aged 14-16, who attend high school, can come play pool and Foosball, create art, make new friends or just hang out with old ones.

The Bridge After School Program

The Bridge After School Program is a program where kids can come and have snacks, play games, go on outings, do crafts, meet new friends and learn!

  • On Tuesdays, kids in Grade 3-5 come from 3:30 to 5:30.
  • On Thursdays, kids in Grade 6-8 come from 3:30 to 5:30.

Located at 256 Brock St at The Bridge Youth Centre.

The Bridge Drop In

The Bridge Drop In centre runs every Friday and Saturday night from 7 -11pm. Here youth ages 16 - 24 can come play pool, video games, foosball, create art or just hang out! There are couches and stages to lounge around on, and all the activities are free!

The Hub After School Program

The Hub After School program is a program where kids can come and have snacks, play games, go on outings, do crafts, meet new friends and learn!
  • On Tuesdays, kids in Grade 6-8 come from 3:30 to 5:30.
  • On Thursdays, kids in Grade 3-5 come from 3:30 to 5:30.

National Youth Week

Every year from May 1st to May 7th, Canada celebrates National Youth Week. In Peterborough, many events are offered throughout the week. Come join the celebration of youth and their active participation in the community. For more information, please visit the website

Peterborough Family Resource Centre

The Play to Learn program is a free drop in program for you and your child to play and learn together. Check out their website or drop in to the Peterborough Family Resource Centre located at 201 Antrim Street. While at the Resource Centre come and check out the Resource Lending Library filled with toys, activities as well as parenting books. Free monthly borrowing.

Peterborough Public Library

The Peterborough Public Library offers many programs for all ages. They are fun and educational based. Some programs include Pizza & Pages Teen Book Club, After School Club, Bouncin' Babies, and much more! Check out their website for more information! 

The L.O.F.T.: Downtown Youth Space

Come check out all the leisure opportunities for teens! Everyone between 13 and 18 years old is welcome. This free youth drop in space is located at PCVS (201 McDonnel Street). Come participate in some great activities, bring your friends, hang out, play games, do crafts, and enjoy a snack. The L.O.F.T. Downtown Youth Space also offers many free special events. West 49 Skateboard Park

The Peterborough West49 Skateboard Park, located at 560 McDonnell Street, is an open free-use facility for skateboard users. The park which measures 8,400 square feet and includes 22 ramps, is open May to November each year.
