Assessment Information

If you have questions about your assessment please contact the local Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) office at 1477 Lansdowne St W., Peterborough, toll free at 1-866-296-6722 or at www.mpac.ca.

The deadline for appealing the 2012 assessment to the Assessment Review Board (ARB) is April 2, 2012.

Requests for Reconsideration (RFR) are informal requests that can be made directly to MPAC. This is an informal reconsideration process that cannot be appealed to the ARB. MPAC will go over every aspect of your property with you to make sure you are not being overcharged for something that you do not have. If, during the process, there is a decision to reduce your assessment then MPAC will mail you copies of the forms to be signed and sent back to them. Once this is done, a copy of the form will be forwarded to us for processing. However, it is important to note that the signed forms must be sent back to MPAC. No changes are effective until the property owner signs off on them. You can call MPAC at the above noted telephone number to initiate the process. Alternately, you can access the MPAC Request For Reconsideration form online and send or fax the completed form to their offices.

Beginning 2009, the RFR process is a mandatory first step prior to appealing to the Assessment Reveiw Board for all residential, farm and managed forest taxpayers.  The deadline for filing an RFR with MPAC is April 2, 2012.
