Take It Back! Peterborough! is a program that allows residents to return household items to retailers to ensure they are reused, recycled, or disposed of in the proper, environmentally safe way instead of being disposed of improperly through the regular garbage stream or down the drain into our water systems.
Participating retailers and organizations in the City of Peterborough agreed to accept items and products in order to reuse, recycle or responsibly dispose of them. These businesses are showing a commitment to improve the environment and reduce unnecessary waste in the community. Residents participating in the program are also showing a desire to do their bit in environmental stewardship.
There are 4 main categories of products identified in the program: Automotive, Electronics, Healthcare, and Household Items. Please note that some stipulations may apply:
