HIGHLIGHTS
- Acceptable Lifts are 22kg (50lbs) in weight and less than 1m (3ft) in length. Anything larger than these limits are considered a large article.
- Double bag your pet waste and ensure that it does not exceed 25% of the volume of the garbage lift.
- Oops Stickers are now being used to notify residents that article is too large for weekly collection service
- Next large article collection event is Sept 20, 2010. Tags must be purchased by Friday Sept 17, 2010.
Two large article collection events per year are scheduled on the second Monday in May and the first Monday in October. For a fee, the City will pick up items larger than an acceptable lift. Tags must be purchased in advance from the Public Works Yard (182 Townsend Street) or City Hall (500 George Street). - Cost is $15 for the first item and $5 for each additional item.
- Tickets for the collection must be purchased by 4:30 p.m. on the Friday prior to the event.
- Building materials and automobile parts are not accepted; take these directly to the landfill
- For safety reasons, please remove all appliance doors and place them beside the appliance for collection.
