Transportation Plan Review

The 2002 Comprehensive Transportation Plan guides transportation priorities within the City of Peterborough. The Transportation Plan identifies needs and priorities within the transportation system from 2002-2021. It is called a comprehensive plan because the plan addresses vehicular demand as well as overarching policies, walking, cycling, transit and transportation demand management.

The Plan recommends reviews every five years to ensure that it remains current. The first review of the Transportation Plan is currently underway. If approved, the City of Peterborough will use the plan to guide priorities within the Transportation Division. Infrastructure recommendations arising from the Plan will be used to establish funding allocations and develop the Ten-year Capital Program.

This is a formal process under the Environmental Assessment Act and public consultation is a key component of the review.
