Community Engagement Strategy
A key component of this study will involve consultation with transit customers, community groups/organizations, and the public at large to determine their views of the Peterborough Transit system and obtain input on strategic directions.
We want to hear from you. There will be several methods of getting involved in this study and providing input.
Let’s Talk Transit - The study team held an initial drop in centre on October 25th, 2011 to seek feedback at the early stages of the study.
Focus Groups are being conducted with residents and stakeholders that have interest in transit services. The objective of the sessions is to have a facilitated discussion focused on the overall vision for Peterborough Transit, key issues and opportunities, service delivery options and strategic directions for moving forward. Participants are not required to be transit users; only to have an interest in the future of Peterborough Transit and/or Handi-Van services.
The first focus group was held October 26th. The second one is scheduled for Tuesday, January 31st from 6-9 p.m. at the Transit Terminal. Participation was voluntary and numbers were limited. As of January 27th 2012 at 3 PM, the quota for the focus group has been reached.
More information about the date/time/location of all consultation activities will be posted here shortly. If you would like to be notified, please have your contact information included on our mailing list.
Project Schedule
The study will take approximately six months to complete. The presentation of the study recommendations to Council is scheduled to occur early Spring 2012.
