Peterborough Renovates Program - Applications no longer available

Applications are no longer available, as this program is delivered in first-come, first-served basis. Contact Habitat for Humanity at 705-750-1456 for more information.

The Peterborough Renovates Program (PRP) helps low to moderate income homeowners with necessary repairs. This includes accessibility and efficiency upgrades. The Program Backgrounder and the Housing Division's Programs and Initiatives website provide more information. This program helps people in the City and County of Peterborough and is delivered through the Habitat for Humanity Peterborough & Kawartha Region office.

Are you are looking for rental housing?

If you are looking for rental housing help in the city or county of Peterborough, a great first stop is the Housing Resource Centre. Set up with a housing help centre, you can walk-in to the office during business hours or call to book an appointment with a housing counsellor. Located at 540 George Street N in Peterborough (on the corner of George and McDonnell Streets) their office is located just north of City Hall. Feel free to call 705-743-2272 for more information.

Affordable Housing

  • The Affordable Housing brochure has basic information about the various buildings in the City and County of Peterborough. Call the landlords at the phone numbers listed in the brochure for information and to apply. The monthly rent cost may vary. Ask each landlord for details.

10-year Housing and Homelessness Plan for Peterborough

The 10-year Housing and Homelessness Plan for the city and county of Peterborough was released in 2014. In consultation with community members, both short- and longer-term commitments were developed. The goals, also referred to as "outcomes", are connected to each of the 20 commitments of the plan.

Reports are prepared each year to report on the progress made towards meeting the goals. The most recent is the 2017 Progress Report with the 20 Commitments and Outcomes supporting document. It is available online and in print format from City Hall.
