Business Continuity

Under By-Law Number 05-240, the Corporation of the City of Peterborough has adopted an “all-hazards” Emergency Plan that is implemented during emergency situations involving the City of Peterborough.  The Business Continuity Plan is an important part of the City of Peterborough Emergency Plan.

Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) are a critical and effective component of any Emergency Plan. BCPs establish logistical plans for how departments and businesses will recover and restore partially or completely interrupted time-sensitive functions, within a predetermined time, after an unplanned and extended disruption or emergency, such as a building fire, weather related or human health emergency.
