Wall of Honour

Peterborough Veterans Wall of Honour
The Veterans Wall of Honour will be installed in Confederation Square in October 2010 to honour Peterborough's veterans. The design comprises twelve monumental granite stones arranged in a semi-circle around the Peterborough Cenotaph, inscribed with the names of over 11,000 men and women who served Canada in World War I, World War II, and the Korean War. The dedication ceremony is planned for October 9, 2010.
The deadline for submission of names to be considered for the Wall of Honour was July 30, 2010. We can no longer guarantee that new names submitted will be included.
The criteria for being included on the Veterans Wall of Honour are as follows (Veterans must meet the first criteria and any one of the second, third or fourth):

- The enlisted person must have been born in the City of Peterborough (the “City”) or Peterborough County (the “County”); or,
- The person must have enlisted in the armed forces in the City or the County, including those who came from other communities and enlisted in the City or the County; or,
- After discharge, the person must have moved to the City or the County prior to December 31st, 1970 and remained a permanent resident of the City or the County from that date forward.
