Mayor Bennett Giving Gala

 The Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough fosters philanthropy by pooling endowed and special funds and providing grants to registered charities in order to enhance the quality of life for local citizens. The Foundation enables all community members to contribute to positive, lasting changes in the community, and is a part of a national network of community foundations which exist in more than 175 Canadian communities.

 

On November 30, 2011, Mayor Bennett and the Foundation announced plans for the Inaugural “Mayor Bennett Giving Gala,” a new community event designed to support the Foundation in its work of assisting charities in all sectors within the City and County of Peterborough.  The event is a January evening of cocktails, dinner and entertainment that is open to everyone. 

 

 “I am delighted to invite the community to the inaugural Giving Gala,” said Mayor Bennett. “It will be an elegant affair that we hope will become an annual event. Together, we will offer our support to the Community Foundation of Greater Peterborough. Supporting our local Community Foundation is the perfect way to keep our charitable giving close to home, and to make a real difference in the community.”
