COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE REPORT NO. 31

MEETING OF NOVEMBER 7, 2005

TO THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PETERBOROUGH FOR CONSIDERATION AT ITS MEETING HELD NOVEMBER 7, 2005

THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE, AS A RESULT OF ITS MEETING HELD ON MONDAY, NOVEMBER 7, 2005, RECOMMENDS AS FOLLOWS:

1. OMERS Bill 206 Municipal Resolution

That Council approves the recommendation outlined in Report FAFS05-041 dated November 7, 2005 from the Director of Finance and Administrative Services as follows:

That Council send a letter to the Honourable John Gerretsen, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Honourable Dalton McGuinty, Preimier of Ontario, The Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) and Local MPP Jeff Leal advising that the City of Peterborough does not support Bill 206 and requesting that the Government of Ontario reconsider the advisability of proceeding with Bill 206 in its current form.
