Notice of Passing of By-Law 17-107 – Re-Dividing the Ward Boundaries

TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the City of Peterborough on the 2nd day of October 2017 passed By-law 17-107 pursuant to Section 222(1) of the Municipal Act, 2001 and amendments thereto. To read a copy of the By-law with written descriptions of the boundaries click here

AND TAKE NOTICE that By-law 17-107 provides for the re-division of the City of Peterborough's wards (affecting the current Wards 1 (Otonabee), 2 (Monaghan), and 3 (Town)). A map of the new ward boundaries may be viewed here

AND TAKE NOTICE that pursuant to Section 222(4) of the Municipal Act, 2001, any person or agency may file an appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board through the City Clerk, 500 George St. N., Peterborough, ON, K9H 3R9. Appeals to the Ontario Municipal Board must use the OMB appeal form and clearly outline the reasons for the appeal. A copy of the appeal form is available from the OMB website at www.omb.gov.on.ca. The appeal must be submitted with a certified cheque or money order in the amount of $300.00 made payable to the Minister of Finance no later than 4:30 p.m. on the 16th day of November, 2017.

General Information 

The upcoming Municipal Election to elect a Mayor, City Councillors and School Board Trustees will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018. Nominations will open on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 (formerly the 1st business day in January in the year of the election) and close on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. (formerly nominations closed the 2nd Friday in September).
