2018 Municipal Election

General Information

The next Municipal and School Board Elections to elect a Mayor, City Councillors and School Board Trustees will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018. Nominations will open on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 and close on Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

Candidate Information Session

Anyone interested in running for Council or as a School Board Trustee or advertising on their behalf (Third Parties) are welcome to attend the Candidate/Third Party Information Session held on April 26th, 2018 at the Peterborough Public Library from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Please see the Candidate/Third Party Information Session Flyer for more information.

MPAC Voter Lookup

You can find out if you're on the List of Electors, confirm or update your information, add an elector, or change your school support by visiting www.voterlookup.ca 

This service is provided by the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation. 

Ontario Provincial Elections

The upcoming Ontario provincial election is on Thursday June 7, 2018. If you live in Ontario and would like to confirm, update or add your information to the provincial Voters List, please visit Elections Ontario’s e-Registration service. For general enquiries, visit Elections Ontario’s website.

Federal Elections

To register on the federal Voters List, please visit the online voter registration service section on Elections Canada’s main website and select Am I registered to Vote? Check now. For additional information about federal elections, please contact Elections Canada.

Candidate Information Session

The City of Peterborough is hosting a free 2018 Municipal Election Information Session for Candidates and Third Party Advertisers:

Date:         Thursday, April 26th

Time:         12:30 p.m.- 3:30 p.m.

Location:   Peterborough Public Library, 345 Aylmer St. N. - Friends of the LibraryCommunity Room   

The live stream is available here and will start at the same time as the in-person event at 12:30 p.m. During the session, viewers are invited to submit questions via Twitter @CityPtbo with the hashtag #peterboroughvotes2018. Twitter questions will be answered at the end of the session during the Question and Answer period by panelists through the live stream. 

The Municipal and School Board Election will be held on Monday, October 22, 2018. Those considering to run in the Election can file nomination papers beginning Tuesday, May 1, 2018 until Friday, July 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m.

Additional candidate information is available at the “So You Want to Run for Council?” Candidate Information Workshop with speaker Fred Dean on Thursday, April 26th at 7:00 p.m. at Wilson Park Community Centre, 66 Northey’s Bay Road, Woodview, ON.
