Financial Reporting

The deadline for filing financial statements is 2 p.m. on Friday, March 25, 2011. If a candidate does not file by this deadline, and has not applied to the courts for an extension, the candidate forfeits any office won in the election, is ineligible to be elected and may not be appointed to any office until after the next regular election.

New in 2010: Under Section 88.(9.1) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996, Financial Statements must be posted electronically for viewing by the public as soon as possible after documents are filed. These documents will be posted at www.peterborough.ca. Since all donors of more than $100 are included on the financial statements, candidates may wish to advise donors that their information (names, addresses and amount of the donation) will be posted on the Internet.

Please note that financial filing forms have been revised. All candidates must now use the most up-to-date version of Form 4 regardless of the amount of contributions or expenses.
