Market Hall Interior Lighting Project

The City of Peterborough will improve the Market Hall interior lighting and energy efficiency by replacing all existing lighting (mixture of fluorescent and halogen lamps) serving the building with high efficiency solid state LED luminaires and/or lamps. The existing building lighting is inefficient with current annual electric consumption at 23,000kWh. Post upgrade it will reduce to 10,000kWh, a 56% savings. LED lighting is modern technology yielding significant energy consumption reduction, maintenance-free operation and extended life expectancy of the equipment resulting in a highly sustainable investment. The enhanced lighting, allowing for lower cost and efficient operations will serve all users and in particular the tenant, Market Hall Performing Arts Centre, the performers and the audience. The project will be completed in 2017.

The City of Peterborough would like to acknowledge the financial support of the Government of Canada in improving the interior lighting and energy efficiency at the Peterborough Market Hall Performing Arts Centre.
