City Gateway Project

The City of Peterborough has awarded the contract for the construction of the grand Welcome to Peterborough sign, Service Club sign and landscaping at the north-east corner of The Parkway and Crawford Drive. The contract also includes the installation of five secondary gateway signs at various locations on the City’s periphery.

The plan calls for the complete removal of existing features on the site and a lit "Welcome to Peterborough" sign, with another separate smaller sign to identify community service clubs. The landscape development aspect of the project includes large caliper coniferous and deciduous trees.

The City's Gateway project is intended to celebrate the arrival to Peterborough at a location where  people have exited the Highway 115 ramp and are traveling into the City on The Parkway.
