Brealey Drive Reconstruction

The reconstruction of Brealey Drive between Sir Sandford Fleming Drive and Lansdowne Street was completed in 2016.  The street design reflects Complete Streets principles, providing safe and convenient access along and across the street for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles.   

Planning for the reconstruction of Brealey Drive between Lansdowne Street and Sherbrooke Street has commenced.  The purpose of the reconstruction is to improve the intersections, install curbs and gutters to improve stormwater management and provide infrastructure for people walking and cycling. 

Conceptual drawings were presented at a public open house held on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre.  The information presented at the open house included:

Comments on the recommended design concept were accepted following the open house and reflected in report USEC15-020, approved by Council on September 8, 2015.  The project has now moved to the detailed design stage.

The relocation of utilities will be completed in 2019 with construction of the road scheduled to commence in spring 2020 pending budget approvals.
