Airport Development Program

In the fall of 2008, the City of Peterborough commissioned LPS AVIA Consulting to develop a business case for the development of infrastructure at the Peterborough Airport.  The recommendations of the Business Case were accepted by City Council and an Airport Master Plan was commissioned in the spring of 2009.

Beavermead Campground Study

The City is undertaking a cost-benefit analysis of the Beavermead Campground and Park, to determine the future of this function in Beavermead Park. The intent of the analysis is to consider both the social and economic benefits of the operations of a municipal campground in a very active public park. The review is two parts. The first is a cost-benefit analysis. The second part is a strategy plan for the future of the lands within the campground.

Central Area Master Plan

The Central Area Master Plan is a planning strategy that adds policy depth and clarity to the Commercial Land Use Policies for the Central Area already contained within the Official Plan.

Class Environmental Assessment Study: Alignment of Crawford Drive and Harper Road

The City of Peterborough has initiated an Environmental Assessment of the alignment of Crawford Drive and Harper Road to meet the expansion needs of the Study Area in accordance with the Official Plan.
 

Class Environmental Assessment: Chemong Road/Reid Street Widening

The study will examine the opportunity to improve traffic flow, enhance safety and increase roadway capacity on Chemong Road/Reid Street from Parkhill Road West to north of Sunset Boulevard, as identified in the City's Comprehensive Transportation Plan (April 2002) - Basic Network Improvement.
 

Class Environmental Assessment: Sherbrooke Street

The study will examine the opportunity to increase roadway capacity, improve traffic operations and to reconstruct Sherbrooke Street to better fit the neighbourhoods urban environment from Glenforest Boulevard to the West City Limit.

Class Environmental Assessment: Stormwater Quality Management Master Plan

The Stormwater Quality Management Master Plan will serve to guide repair, upgrades, maintenance and construction of new infrastructure throughout the City to improve the quality of stormwater runoff.
 

Class Environmental Assessment Study: Operational Improvements on Lansdowne Street West

The City of Peterborough has commenced a Class Environmental Assessment Study to consider operational improvements on Lansdowne Street West from Kawartha Heights Boulevard/Spillsbury Drive to Clonsilla Avenue.
 

Community Improvement Plans

The City has approved two community improvement plans, the Central Area Community Improvement Plan and the Affordable Housing Community Improvement Plan, in order to lend financial support to downtown redevelopment and revitalization projects and assist in the creation of affordable housing.

Emerald Ash Borer Management Study

Peterborough currently faces a threat to its public and private ash tree resource. An invasive and exotic pest known as the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) has infested many ash trees throughout Southern Ontario.  Find out how the City of Peterborough is working to protect our trees.
 

George Street Improvement Project - Sherbrooke Street to Perry Street

The Transportation Division of the City of Peterborough is undertaking a multi-phased project designed to improve the safety, appearance and functionality of the section of George Street between Sherbrooke and Perry Streets.
 

Jackson Creek Diversion Class Environmental Assessment

The City of Peterborough has initiated this project to complete recommendation 6.1.2 of the Jackson Creek Flood Reduction Master Plan to undertake a Municipal Class EA to study, evaluate and recommend an alternative to divert high flows in Jackson Creek directly to the Otonabee River.

 

Lily Lake Functional Planning Study

The City is undertaking the Lily Lake Finctional Planning Study to comprehensively review the major planning issues affecting an area before it is developed in order to allow for the creation of land use designations and policies to guide its future developments.

Little Lake Master Plan

The City is currently undertaking the Little Lake Master Plan. This initiative has commenced and will include public consultation in the spring and fall of 2009 with a final report planned for April 2010 to City Council.

Morrow Park Master Plan

The Morrow Park Master Plan will include improvements of the part site, with a forward-thinking strategy to support the next 20 years of development and use. Public consultation will continue on Tuesday, May 3rd at the Evinrude Centre following a public display Saturday, April 30 at the Farmer's Market.  Morrow Park is an important part of Peterborough's agricultural heritage.
