Sanitary Backflow Prevention Subsidy Program 2013

The Sanitary Backflow Prevention Subsidy Program, 2012 has  been replaced with a more comprehensive subsidy program; The Flood Reduction Subsidy Program.

Through this new subsidy program the City of Peterborough is still offering subsidy funding to assist property owners with the installation of a Backwater  Valve and/or a Sump Pit and Pump. These items through the new subsidy still follow the same dollar values offered to property owners as previous.

To be subsidised, the installation of a “Sump Pit and Pump”  requires the property owner to disconnect the foundation drain from the sanitary sewer, if that connection exists.
